On view: “EMBLEMATA NOVA DE SECRETIS NATURÆTravis Lawrence (IL) solo exhibition

Through the art of printmaking, Travis Lawrence creates illustrious allegorical imagery inspired by the mythical and the arcane. Influenced by medieval alchemical manuscripts and illuminations, each symbolic print is an emblem of mystery and metaphor. The viewer is invited to explore the content of these hand-painted prints through a contemplative interaction with the represented archetypes.

About the Artist:
Born and raised in a Midwest religious upbringing, Travis opened his perspective to the interaction with ideas greater than and/or within oneself. He utilizes the art of creation as an act of opening doorways and manifesting these ideas through symbolic narrative. Similar to alchemy, printmaking can be used as a meditative procedure of transforming the mundane into higher states.

“EMBLEMATA” is Lawrence’s second solo exhibit with Anno Domini.:

Art Ark Gallery – 1035 S. Sixth St. map

On view: “Travel Perspectives: Explore, Experience, Connect” group exhibit featuring John Gayler, Pam Perkins, Peter Thoeny

Three photographers share their perspectives and styles in an exhibition celebrating the intentional and opportunistic traveler. John Gayler creates compelling imagery guided by the challenges and rewards of exploration, both local and remote. Peter Thoeny takes opportunities for creative composition with his distinctive HDR style to visualize experiences. Pam Perkins demonstrates how to connect with strangers with a visual language, bringing home a viewpoint on human contact from around the globe that few can match.

FUSE presents at the Citadel Art Gallery- 199 Martha St. map

Opening reception: “Change Over Time” by Sarah and Valentino Loyola

Theme is focused on how life (humanness and nature) can change over time.

KALEID Gallery – 320 S. First St. map

Opening reception: “Seasons” by Teresa Beyer solo exhibition

Signifying change, the seasons influence all of life and us all. New birth (Spring), youth (Summer), middle and old age (Fall), and death (Winter). Each has its place and its value, and its individual beauty.

Whether it is triptychs of abstracts in acrylic for Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter or the Fire Season, or the blossoming of a young girl watching ballerinas juxtaposed with adolescent ballerinas in watercolor, or watercolor landscapes during different seasons, or the growth of flowers, this show exhibits change, growth and beauty of the seasons in all its glory.

Shipibo Ceramic Vessels from Amazon Rainforest of Peru

Shipibo people live in the Southern part of the Amazon Rainforest jungle of Peru. The ceramic vessels are made for their daily use. They use the clay from the rich soil and shape the vessels from the base. Using the ancient coil method, in which the clay is gently rolled and wound in concentric circles until the desired pot in completed.  Other Shipibo people have started to use the wheel to make the pots.

Dreams and Doodles Self Love”  by Inner Divine Creations

I create various types of art. One that I am truly proud of is my self-love journal and coloring book. Entitled “Dreams and Doodles,” this book was created very intentionally. Each coloring page was created with the hope of a full page of creative colors, designs and sayings all of your own. So really go for it!

The affirmations are inspiring reminders for yourself to repeat aloud through your day in any situations that you may need them. Manifestation pages are an opportunity for you write out your dreams and desires with the intentions of making them a reality. It is also a reminder that whatever we speak, think or believe has a real chance of becoming a part of who we are as a person. My husband Jamar, created each poem inside, each uniquely written to inspire and uplift its reader.

All of my art prints are original art that I created myself. I love to use deep vibrant colors that bring a piece of unique artist life to your living space. Something that just makes you feel good when you look at it. By adding a custom-made frame or a purchased frame that you love, you will truly have a masterpiece on your hands. ~Khadija / Inner Divine Creations
